Yeah, that bit haunted me. Like, a lot. Like, as in, I was almost physically sick when I realized what had happened. Especially what they did with the wolf head.
Unexpected as hell, or for me at least. I knew there would have to be shenannigans--this is GRRM, after all--but I figured the "wedding day"+"breaking bread" tropes were far too concrete to ever smash like that.
