How cool is this? There's a student violinist in the room next to me. I can hear her clearly--they're very good. I love hearing it! The art floor rocks!
My first Honors lecture was cancelled, but I didn't know about it, so I got up a bit too early for nothin'. Still, I met a really sweet girl who lives on my floor--she says to call her Fly, so I will. While we got the news that our lecture was cancelled, we met a very nice girl named Sonia from Royal Oak. She woke up at six to get to her class! Poor girl. She had a big bio-chem book in her arm and another monstrous book in her backpack. Lugging it around must've been a nightmare! And she has a super-long bio-chem class every day. Yeek! Pre-med.
So we got to know each other and we decided to help each other find out where our other classes would be. That was pretty nice--cept for the heat; the heat I could do without, haha. But yeah, getting to know where I'm going is good.
I did go to Design class, though. It's gonna be a lot of work. And I just found out that my Wayne State OneCard doesn't count as cash at the art supply store, so Mom and Daddy have to come back up here again to give me cash to buy supplies. Lameness! At least I have the majority of that stuff from my portfolio class. So that's good.
Oh yeah, I'm not sure if I mentioned this before: Last night, at 3:30AM, somebody burnt popcorn and set off the fire alarm. We all had to stand outside for a half hour. And I had just gotten some good sleep! Lame! Remind me to bring sedatives to school next week; I may need them if it takes me so long to fall asleep!
So, yeah, kind of a rough start this morning with the sleep intrusion, but I'm feeling better now. Especially since I met Fly and Sonia; getting to know people is nice. Getting to know my roomie, Katy, too. She's awesome--over 300 cds and a TON of Broadway soundtracks. Shaweet!
