I'm so cranky why am I so cranky
I actually got some sleep
Granted I kept waking up periodically, but I still slept (had weird dreams about following people around a grocery store)
But I'm still tired and cranky and not enthralled about anything

GuHHhh the morning was so amazing the temperature was perfection. I was so smiley and YEAH BOYEEEE. And then I got home and became useless and lonely and just hnnnnnnn. This summer is so good for the time I have to just sit around, but at the same time...Buh. I need close-proximity friends again.

OKAY I'M GOING TO SPARE YOU ALL MY ART ANXIETIES AND TELL YOU ABOUT THE FACT THAT I GOT AMAZING STUFF FROM TY AND GRIMM IN THE MAIL TODAY. I WAS JUST. I just. FFff. It made the day.
• A beautiful blue beetle necklace (the legit bug not the derp superhero ok) that's gonna display on my shelf with my other pretties.
• An amazing con sketch from a GLC artist of Lantern Salaak. I'll let you know which dude it was when I match the face design with Sal's ever-changing design throughout the run (DOES NOBODY HAVE A SOLID CHARACTER DESIGN FOR THIS GUY????). That'll go on my wall next to my drawpretties.
• A 4-issue series from like 1993 of Americanized Captain Harlock. Properly licensed use of course--the last run before Toei said "ok fools you're done with this". It's pretty much a recap of Harlock's backhistory from the My Youth in Arcadia film tied into some post-movie plot about alien business trying to take over Earth business and Harlock and some people we don't care about being all anti-establishment. The story is actually pretty dry and MAYA IS NOW A BIRD???? but I adore it anyway. :'| These are wonderful finds. I cherish them, you guys. (TELL ME HOW MUCH I OWE YOU NOW)

Uuuuntil I came home and found the letter from EMU telling me about incomplete financial aid progress. Which, hilariously enough, lists a few due dates for certain forms that are 23 days past at the least, which, y'know. Is fantastic. But I have the forms required now on in my file, so theoretically, all I'll need to do is print those and mail 'em off or something. Theoretically. Hope for the best, expect the worst is the only motto I can take on when dealing with University institutions anymore. It's never easy, it's never stress-free, it's never in my favor. But I won't grind my teeth too hard over it right now until I get underway with it.
Nice of this kind of notice to come up on a Friday. Good Lord.
My patience at work is just not good lately, and this wasn't even a long shift. Tomorrow I'll be sitting in a box from 1 to 8:15, so I better bring like, 8 billion comic books to kill time with or something because Pokémon only works for about an hour before I want to strangle myself and every little digital animal I'm grinding to 50. Hoo, boy. I want my day off!
So technically I already did my original shit for the day (NO EXCEPTIONS), but I'd feel pretty useless just letting the...uh. 4 hours I have awake go to waste. But I don't really know what I want to draw.

My cat is being such a huge brat atm and it is a very real test on my patience. I need to keep positive, though, so that I can get through this long shift outside today without causing anyone undue bad vibes. I just wish there was some cereal or something to eat or anything, really, so that I don't have to go out and buy it. Mmmh.
The talking heads on the TV smile and smile about this heat like it's the best thing ever and I think that makes me more irate. I am not a summer kid.
Still, all the walks I've taken this year--the most walking I've done ever--gives me a chance to see more trees and leaves than I've ever bothered to notice before. And the sky is one of those absolute blues that you always want to see, so it does take the sting out of how bad it'll get today. The worst hot days are the ones where the sky looks hazy and off-white and just gross.
Alright cat keep it up and i will skin you

Today I finished A Feast for Crows. I ENJOYED BUT...uh. IS ANYBODY I LIKE ACTUALLY GOING TO SURVIVE THIS SERIES?? I'm afraid to admit I kind of crush on Sphinx for being a shiny brownskinned homeboy with a bow just because admitting is like signing his death warrant. 8'|
But now I have to wait until...whenever the next one comes out sobs. I think I'll reread Aurian to see if my high school self had ANY taste in literature at all. There was a cute dinky wind mage boy in the second book that I had a huge crush on and I want to relive it.
Then after that......BECKY WHAT'S THE NAME OF THAT NEW YA SERIES COMING OUT ABOUT SOME KID AND HIS SUPERVILLAIN PARENTS?? I want that.
Dre sent me a beautiful rosary bracelet in the mail today *wears it and adds to Drebling on arm
I was using it while watching a storm roll in at work. It was pretty interesting to see how time passed and the clouds started to float in and rain and all that stuff. Quiet moments. Even something a little stranger, but maybe that was just me and my state of mind. Either way, I felt really good and grateful and hopeful.
After work my parents and I went out to eat. Dad won a penguin plush from the Madagascar movie out of the claw machine and gave it to me. :') It's precious. He's making bedroom eyes from across my bedroom, perched on the jewelry box that serves as a bookend for my animu dvds.
Somehow I have to scramble to get all of my chores done before work tomorrow and secure my weekly $50. I'll slap $20 into the laptop fund and keep the rest for gas/workfood needs. It should work. SOON, MACBOOK PRO. SOON.......
I'm so very sleepy. Maybe tonight will be the night I listen to my body and just go to bed when I'm tired! There's another storm going on rn so I can just listen to that. Yerp.
