Despite the heat, my five hours of volunteering went by rather well and quickly. I worked at the lamest game with the lamest prizes, but that just meant lots of time to take it easy and doodle. Had a couple of the same kids come over determined to win, but ended up getting more consolation prize fish than they could carry, ha.

I had delicious Italian sausage.

I danced on the dance floor by myself, was complimented by an older lady on my skirt, and spun around a bit with a drunk old man until he was too tired to keep going. It was fun.

I don't think I'll have a set theme for August. Just drawing. Hell, it might as well be Avatar for all the time I've spent rewatching. I tore through 13 episodes of season 3 today during my day shift. I'm so glad I got it; it's a lot better in rewatch than it was the first time. Lots of little things I've missed. It kept me in a great mood all day. The amazingly mild temperatures were a good touch, too. And wonderful things from Noodles who is wonderful and shouldn't be wasting her money on shipping things to me even though they are amazing.

I also ended up babbling a bit about the show to a coworker who was curious about it. Ended up being ten minutes of general fandom talk between the crazies in Avatar and Twilight (she likes the first book). I thanked her for letting me just talk and she was really awesome about it, but I wonder if she realizes how important it was to me. I don't really get to do that a lot anymore. Not face to face.

Same thing when one of the troopers pulled up and asked me what I was up to. We ended up talking about the significance of animation in the 40's and how its changed today-- Looney Tunes particularly. It was nice. All the troopers this year are awesome in some way/shape/form and I love it.

Someone on a bike got hit by a car in the park, though. Had a firetruck and an ambulance blaze by. I hope those involved are okay.

And Kanye is still the best way to start/end a day--

Belle does not like having the car washed hum hum. But 8th graders cleaned my car for me so it was good and Belle got to see all the kids so that was good, too. SINCE WHEN WERE 8TH GRADERS SO TINY BTW I feel so ancient.

I wanted to do splash images for my next month, but I'm kind of looking at July like...idk. I don't see it happening. It's going to be really hot and I'll be working a lot and I haven't had the motivation to draw at the booths because of the heat sssso. I think I'll do action for July. Bodies/things in motion. Maybe if I get off my lazy arse and upload Flash onto this computer ANIMATIONS?? But probably not I am very bad at that.

Just one more 1-8:30 shift and I get tomorrow off!!! To...drop Katie's car off at the shop and then go to EMU and slam papers in their face and go NOW PAY FOR MY SCHOOLING. Huuuu.


Why does cereal never keep me full.

• I smiled and smiled and smiled all morning and on through the afternoon and I told everyone to have a good day and I meant it. My only drawback was one patron I feel blew off too hastily, but there was no animosity between us. I only just thought I wasn't as good as I could have been. Maybe more eye contact.

• I drew a few nice things I really like, finished one I am so lukewarm on that I might just not worry about following through with color. It was the last piece of big vellum so the cropping would've made things worse anyway. 8'|

• I ate a lot of unhealthy food in place of meals, so I think I better make some semblance of a legit lunch to make up for it.

• Water shifted and I staggered once as I was going to my car during the shift switch, but other than that, joints have been fairly docile.

• A sparrow just flew up to my door and perched on the screen for 2 seconds lol what even.,.

• No work until Monday morning /o/

Today I finished A Feast for Crows. I ENJOYED BUT...uh. IS ANYBODY I LIKE ACTUALLY GOING TO SURVIVE THIS SERIES?? I'm afraid to admit I kind of crush on Sphinx for being a shiny brownskinned homeboy with a bow just because admitting is like signing his death warrant. 8'|
But now I have to wait until...whenever the next one comes out sobs. I think I'll reread Aurian to see if my high school self had ANY taste in literature at all. There was a cute dinky wind mage boy in the second book that I had a huge crush on and I want to relive it.
Then after that......BECKY WHAT'S THE NAME OF THAT NEW YA SERIES COMING OUT ABOUT SOME KID AND HIS SUPERVILLAIN PARENTS?? I want that.

Dre sent me a beautiful rosary bracelet in the mail today *wears it and adds to Drebling on arm
I was using it while watching a storm roll in at work. It was pretty interesting to see how time passed and the clouds started to float in and rain and all that stuff. Quiet moments. Even something a little stranger, but maybe that was just me and my state of mind. Either way, I felt really good and grateful and hopeful.

After work my parents and I went out to eat. Dad won a penguin plush from the Madagascar movie out of the claw machine and gave it to me. :') It's precious. He's making bedroom eyes from across my bedroom, perched on the jewelry box that serves as a bookend for my animu dvds.


Somehow I have to scramble to get all of my chores done before work tomorrow and secure my weekly $50. I'll slap $20 into the laptop fund and keep the rest for gas/workfood needs. It should work. SOON, MACBOOK PRO. SOON.......

I'm so very sleepy. Maybe tonight will be the night I listen to my body and just go to bed when I'm tired! There's another storm going on rn so I can just listen to that. Yerp.
