I think it's decided
Nov. 9th, 2005 11:21 pmIf I ever become a homeless drunkard, I think I'll be the homeless drunkard who gets on everyone's case about abstract art, and how people really don't get it. It'd be hilarious if I wasn't so drunk while harrassing the people, because I'd probably raise some good arguments that would immediately be pushed aside by the presence of the Jack Daniels slur of the language.
In any case, for some reason, I end up thinking about that when my mind is idle. And my conclusion is always the same: I LOVE ABSTRACT ART.
I promise you, I have tried to get myself to hate it. BUT I CAN'T. I love it I love it I love it. The sheer audacity of some of it is exciting to me. I love how people get pissed off at it and vex over it. I love knowing that the artists who did it know that the people are pissed and they probably don't care or even enjoy it like I do. They have balls. And, in some ways, the greater ability to articulate and make points.
I'd sincerely hug my Piet Mondrian over my bed if it weren't for the fear that it would become unsturdy and topple off in the middle of the night and crush my head while I slept. I want curtains with Mondrian print. Hell, I've seen napkins with his Composition in Red, Blue, and Yellow on it! I WANT THOSE, TOO.
Holy crap, enough of that.
Soooo, yeah! Because I'm highly on-task, I'll be finishing the coloring on more TAE pages instead of doing my papers. Rock on! I promise I'm asking for a work ethic for Christmas.
Speaking of which, must convince Daddy to get me a DA subscription for tyrannicalalien.dev for the holidays. That would be lovelyyy.
And oh yeah, the letters you've all left your addresses for? Expect them in some recent days. Around next week. I'll have stamps when I get home, and I'll prolly mail them Saturday. And by you all I mean the ones I've written so far. I WILL TELL YOU NOT. The suspense will murder you.
Toodles.
