The weekend, and more character things
Mar. 27th, 2006 10:20 amI love how things happen and I neglect to reference them in a journal, even though it's why I possess a journal. =P
Anywho, Saturday was breakfast at Big Boy's (Steve wanted birthday waffles), then a few hours killing time at the mall. I am most displeased at the gutted-out food court. Where the hell am I going to get good stromboli now?! Briarwood? Too far away! But yeah. I managed to not buy anything. That was shocking. I also threw another application at EB--Nick dropped it on the floor for a while to annoy me, naturally, but I've got my fingers crossed. Two jobs would be delicious.
After that, we gathered at Tim's house till everyone else got there, and ten of us (Steve, Jordan, Jakey, Renee, Kathleen, Amanda, Tim, Sam, Phil, and myself) went up to Greektown. Yeah, and we did not acquire Greek food, since it was Saturday night and there was a hockey game, motocross, and a casino going on down there. So we ended up at a Pizza Papalis--which was delicious. After that, Jordan took us walking around downtown Detroit. It was pretty nice. Kind of cold, but not intolerably so. Went to Hart Plaza, saw Canada across the river, went into the Ren Cen, saw some gorgeous churches, statues, got hit up for money by a hobo who gave us flyers for a jazz bar, talked to an old lady who told us to not party so hard, yadda, yadda. Bachelorettes in a limo drove by yelling "I'M GETTING MARRIED IN FIVE DAYS! COME PARTY WITH US!", but we declined. Still, apparently, we looked like a fun crowd.
Once we squeezed out of the traffic mess--as if everything let out at once--we went to Steak n' Shake, since Steve wanted to turn officially 19 there. So he did, and that was fine. I was pretty half-dead by that point, but that's okay. I got home around two.
Then on Sunday, I went next door to my Uncle Mike's for the March-April birthday party with the fam'. Got to see most everyone, except Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Don and their kids. Everyone was fawning over Mikayla, cause she is the resident baby, and Sarah Jean was bouncing around. Got some nice, cute cards, and a Sarah Jean on my lap opening up her My Little Ponies and RC John Deere tractor thing. I promise she's the only little girl who'll get MLPs and a John Deere remote control tractor. And love it, too. XD
Went over to Steve's for his family's birthday party, and that was alright. Kinda stuffy in the house, but it wasn't bad. Got introduced to his mom's side of the family. Hell if I'll remember half the names that were said, but maybe I'll get it straight. Lots of little girls running around. Once Steve blew out his candles and opened his gifts, I had to split so I could get ready to come back up here.
I was up till 3:30 last night, letting Keyra type up her paper on my laptop, and doing my ridiculous ink homework. I canNOT use ink for some reason. The pen tips don't spread it! I must be using it like a retard or something. And when it does work, it comes out in massive streams, which makes me redo the whole damn strip. Rrr!
So, yeah. That's pretty much it. I still have a good forty minutes or so till I must suffer the wrath of Design, so I'll do another one of this spiffy character things I'm addicted to (this may motivate others to do the same, and I encourage it, if only to give me something to read and exploit later!).
( Cute little fox boy stuff, now )
