grain of salt
Jan. 17th, 2007 04:40 pmThe drive up to school last morning was slightly craptastical, in that ice was loaded on the roads. I slid a little, but it was no big. It just took almost fifteen minutes longer, because everyone moved so sloowwwww. Still. Things shouldn't be so bad once Michigan stops buttraping the road with ice and we get to deal with gross salt-stained roads that make me swerve like whoa.
Monday was kind of scary, going up alone. But the ride home was pleasant. Anyway, that day is Illustrator class, and it looks like I am going to do okay. Ish. I mean, I hate Illustrator, but. Gotta learn it. No tests yay. :D And it seems manageable. The teacher has a kind of irritating voice, but I'm over it.
Yesterday was Photoshop and Speech. Photoshop looks like it could either be totally rocking or utterly aggravating. I'm leaning towards the former, seeing as the projects are relevent to my interests. We get to paint a landscape for the first one, and I am allowed a tablet so whee.
Speech may be interesting, just kind of painful. It's three hours long, which is a bit taxing on my patience for listening to people. I did twelve profile sketches in that sitting and used up all my drawing paper within an hour and a half, lol. But I met a real friendly fella named Brett, who I had to introduce to the class, and he introduced me in turn. There is a French native in the class as well, with an exciting accent, as well as a Vancouver lady with a strong Chinese accent. Heee. Accents. I want one of my own. X0 Maybe a Russian one.
My first assignment is to accumulate five images that represent my experiences or personality. Hohum. That's kind of cool, though I tend to get a little too emotional talking about myself and my voice cracks. Right around the point where I'm like "LOL I HAD NO HONEST FRIENDS IN GRADESCHOOL :D" or something gay and emo like that. XD Or when I'm blathering about my Daddy-whom-I-admire-more-than-anyone or something. I'll have to pick my targets carefully then.
I went to buy the book (that our instructor authored; SO WHY NO DISCOUNT?) for the class, and found that I was short on the cash, left, thought my giftcard would cover it, went back, realized I only had enough for a used book and that there were none, and left again. Rofl. Today I drove up there to get it. And saw gas for holyshit $1.85I remember when gas was $0.96 on Five Mile, but wussed out and tanked at Chapps for four cents more. No big.
This idiot woman started merging RIGHT ON TOP OF ME on Haggerty and just KEPT RIGHT ON MERGING even when she realized I was totally right there. Wut the hell. D:< Everything was peachydandy until then! Even the expressway was fine! Though my steering seems to jerk when I go faster than 60. Hmm.
I will be christening and decorating my 47th portfolio folder today. :D I am retiring 46 because it is starting to get frayed around the edges and is packed with sketches. Now I have to figure out where to put it. I still have all the others boxed and sitting on my floor since 8th grade, lol. It's a good pick-me-up for days when I think I fail.
Speaking of fail, I AM going to make a webpage and I AM going to make it look nice. And then I am going to get coding help from a friend on Sheez', haha. And then I am going to find out if I actually still have the hosted space TO have the website eventually. Eehee.
Oh God
drisa those chocolates are so good I'm going to eat them in like two days and get acne as divine punishment but I WON'T CARE. XD
