The days go on
Oct. 17th, 2005 06:06 pmWhat's going on here? Am I experiencing virus evolution or something? Headachey, drowsy, nose-runny, eye-watering lameness has now evolved into incessant coughing sore throaty painness. How infinitely annoying! But what the hell.
Methinks that I should have worked on my Design painting crap sometime..Oh well. I've been sick, that's my excuse. Mmrgh.
So, hmm! Yeah, I finished one of the books for my honors class, which is sweet to have out of the way. Friday is my last day of UGE class, which means I get out of class at 10:30 every Friday, woot! I'm going to try my damndest to get at least one day off, if not Friday, for next semester. Acquilla knows what's up. She sleeps the damn day away!
I did spend a whole roll of film on my visit to the Detroit Institute of Arts, but they came out terrible! Next time I go, I'm taking Dad's digicam instead. But I enjoyed myself. I really love that museum, and I can't wait till they finish the extension and bring EVERYTHING out of storage. It's going to be excellent.
The Bronzino painting that my Dad loves was up, still. It's pretty effing amazing. And all the Van Goghs were out, to my enjoyment. I love how you can bring your face really close to the painting, and you can SEE all the texture and all that paint that he slapped on there. It looks so much more than just a painting, really. There were some excellent abstracts out, too. One done by caking paint on with a pushbroom, and some of the paint was bubbled and caked on really cool-like. I dig things like that. Still, that place feels so bare. Another three years, then they'll bring everything out...
Drawing class hasn't been as painful as I keep thinking it is. Just that homework assignment really miffed me off, is all. But today we did heightening with white conte, and I'm pretty interested in trying to get all the little reflections of light on glass to turn out. Effing hard, but fun in some demented sense.
So, Steve decided to be strange and actually celebrate a Hallmark holiday. And buy me stuff. Which makes me feel like a complete loser, since I didn't even give him a card. He got me this (way too expensive, totally didn't deserve it) huge hardcover book of Van Gogh's works, a ginormous sketchbook, and pocky. What a wonderful guy, damn him for giving me stuff without me knowing! Tch.
I visited my Honors advisor and set up the starts of my general education roster. Methinks I'll be taking math (bligh) and intermediate composition next semester, alongside design and drawing II. Thennn..I don't know what else. Maybe speech. All I know is that I'm testing out of critical thinking and computer applications. I still haven't spoken to my art advisor, which I need to do...
I just can't wait till I get to take my course in Flash design. I want to conquer that damn program. CONQUER. Destroy. DEFEAT. PWN.
So, yeah, Karasu's on a campaign. JOIN. Come back to life on Elfwood--it used to rock hardcore. That's cause we all..you know...kept in touch there. Let us recussitate it with love and...stuff. STUFF.
As for me, I'm okay. This cough has me feeling kind of moody, but you know what? I'll deal. I just gotta think about how I'm going to go finish the final class of UGE, go home, see Steve, and buy a halloween costume!
