It's equal parts pleasing and unsettling to be asked to draw my stuff by others for a change lmao. I am sure I won't get that opportunity too often so THANKS MARU I was drawing a blank trying to figure out what to draw tonight. So Chemin it is. With an Iore.
There are lots of things I can think of to say when someone asks me how I'm doing, but it seems very pointless to be totally honest, yeah? Besides, there's no reason to put that kinda negativity on people, especially when my moods seem to be more wishy-washy and shortlived than a Charlie Brown special.
I had a lame early morning shift at 5:45AM, with lots and lots of people showing up super early, which put me in a foul mood. I just...don't like being bothered so early in the morning. It wasn't anybody's fault, really. But that's how it goes, right? So, bah on the morning shift till 1:30.
Nick came over at 3 and we spent a few hours playing/making fun of Kingdom Hearts 2 again. I think we're pretty determined that I beat this game just so he can see all the doofy cutscenes. And also to prove that Goofy is the harbinger of death and that everyone else pales in comparison.
We ate with my parents, then went out to the mall so I could pick up a book of cars for my portfolio work. He got Watchmen, which means yes
We went to a craft store so I could find some vellum bristol paper, failed to find some, but spent a shameful amount of time looking at a Wall-E search-and-find book because Nick said we would not leave until we found the boot in that picture. It was very fun. I love him.
Then he left, and I got to sit here and be in the quiet, and notice the hurt in my knee and the nagging twinges in my drawing hand. I am going to make an effort to stop absent-mindedly cracking my knuckles, because I bet that it is already going to bite me in the ass soon. I'll talk to the specialist I get to see about that.
So yeah, a little bummed now. But tomorrow I am off, and I can go to church and I can see Nick and I can not be at work. I think it will be better.

Date: 2008-06-08 04:15 am (UTC)I like Watchmen, but I think I suffer from the fact that I started reading comics in the early nineties
ie, Sandman 46 was my first comic purchase, so a lot of the groundbreaking things Alan Moore did for mainstream comics, were already becoming entrenched. My husband says he likes Meltzer's Identity Crisis better, which deals with some of the same themes.no subject
