I had a dream that I helped Gargamel cook the Smurfs he finally captured in rice and beef with garlic powder and a bit of Hershey's choclate syrup. And it was delicious. Except their little white hats were still in the mix and that was kind of ick.

Sorry to bust your bubble but I am pretty sure it isn't cannibalism unless you consume a member of your own species. However, eating a member of your own genus is REALLY cutting it close (probably way too close). Also, I have a good feeling no one would place Smurfs in the genus Homo.

You know, I would entertain the idea that Homo floresiensis (assuming it is a distinct species from H. erectus, which I would venture to say it may be) was the most recent common ancestor of Smurfs. That maybe they just gotten extremely, extremely small. You know, from like about from like 1 m. in height to...well tall enough to live in a mushroom. From a 380 cc brain case to...the size of a thimble; with a dramatic increase in intelligence. All of which happened with crazy selective pressures after splitting off from H. floresiensis about 35-18 thousand years ago (which is the approximate age of the remains of H. floresiensis found in Flores in Southeast Asia).

But I don't want to ruin my scientific reputation before I could even build it.

I had a similar dream except the recipe was different and the taste was awful. I woke up and discovered I had the runs, so to this day I try not to dream about it anymore.
