DRAW EVERY DAY NO EXCEPTIONS

What a mama's boy. :T
Ohhh my pull liiiiiist. Nine issues. It was all so, so delicious, though. LET'S MAKING READING COMICS.
Kick-Ass #8: Holy shit??? I feel like it's been 800 years since I've had a new Kick-Ass issue in my hands. And it was wonderful, as things that are so rare but so intense tend to be. The violence was extra gratuitous, and it wrapped up the first volume of the story really well. Actually, I'd be perfectly content with the title ending here, but it's left itself open for more. Just without our precious Hit-Girl, baww. But it's fine: too much of a good thing, as they say...
I won't spoil the details, because you really need to read this for yourselves, but it had me flinching when I turned pages. WHY SO VIOLENT, GAIS. Just kidding I love it. :9
Blackest Night: The Atom and Hawkman: Was "and Hawkman" at all really necessary? He was hardly a frontrunner. More like...the guy Ray kind of has a dialogue with and kind of fights. I don't know. This could've just been Blackest Night: The Atom. But it's okay. It gave me some insight to the character that I didn't have prior--I've never followed him in canon before. I don't know if I would, but it's nice to see where he's coming from. I like his hideous tribal getup, too. And now that Indigo-1 has explained the nuances of the Indigo power...it slowly rose to a higher level of awesome. Bueno. The art really worked great for this, too--Jean was especially hideous and Indigo-1 looked the best I've seen her drawn ever since she came on the scene, hooray!
Justice Society of America #35: This wrapped up really, really good. A nice, light two-part adventure with a good pace of conflict and resolution! Hooray! I loved the single-panel progress of Dr. Fate slowly breaking out of paralysis as the rest of the pages devoted to the plight of each member in a different dimension. It was neat. And Mr. Terrific was in top form and I actually enjoyed him for once. Shocking. Speaking of shocking, Jenny was actually useful for a change, so good for her! Good times were had. Loved that little exchange between Fate and Alan: "Oops. Your helmet's still in orbit. I'll go get it later." Hee.
Green Lantern #50: AW SNAP. Okay. This issue was extremely over-the-top, all kinds of awesome. Where do I even start? I mean, okay. Scarecrow as a Sinestro Corpsman, giggling madly and making crow constructs everywhere. Mera's heartbreaking confession oh my. I don't know her canon, but I was like "DAYUM". Super zoom on her angry eyes, lmfao. Beautiful. And then the Spectre shows up to mess with everybody's shit and get at Hal, and then PARALLAX is loose again AND THAT WHOLE PANEL WHERE HE'S CLIMBING BACK INTO HAL'S BODY IS SIX KINDS OF FREAKY HEY????? It was awesome. This was awesome. Can't wait to see what happens at this point. 8)
Blackest Night: JSA #2: More of the formula HURR TORMENTING THE LOVED ONES stuff from long-dead JSAers. Nothing special about that, except come on, Liberty Belle. Where's yo' head at. Super awesome suprise coming from zombie Damage going boom, but then we get Earth-2 zombie!Superman so shittles, issue 3 will be a mess of a mess. PS I still hate this artist. Ugly mouths. SO UGLY.
Doom Patrol #7: This is a set-up issue for...something. I don't know. There's a lot of faces and names I don't know, and I'm not certain if they have a long-standing history in DCU canon or not? So, yeah. This is post-Blackest Night tomfoolery, and everybody's on the mend in some way or another. And some business guy's gathering metahumans for something and I assume a brawl is on the horizon. Lmfao but there's this guy who's like...Okay. He can portions of his body into plants, animals, and minerals. At the same time. HILARIOUS. HE HAD A DINOSAUR HEAD STICKING OUT OF HIS SHOULDER?? IT WAS PURPLE? LFMAO. I thought it was Metamorpho at first but??? I don't even know. It was sadfunny.
Metal Men tie-in: WHAT. WAIT. SO THIS IS THE LAST ONE? That is most unfortunate. :( Well, Lord got a new assistant out of it, and the house blew up, so I can only assume that would be this fun little romp going out with a bang. Har, har. Oh, man. So much tl;dr. But it's the kind that's funny so you read it anyway and enjoy charming little nuggets of funny. The battle with Giganta was amusing. Hell, it all was, but what do you expect? I guess this little run's done because JLI's coming back. BUT THEY SHOULD DO BOTH...:(
The Great Ten #4: KID THIS IS THE ONE WITH IMMORTAL MAN-IN-DARKNESS AND IT IS PRETTY WICKED NEAT. The whole origin and condition of being the Immortal is like whoa. Sad but rather badass. This is why Man-in-Darkness is my favorite next to ~Accomplished Perfect Physician~. The plot with the poseur Chinese gods is starting to unravel, and it's keeping a pretty good pace about it inbetween introducing the readers to the heroes and their origins, so I am having a grand ol' time with this title. I will be sad to see it done in six issues, though. I want more already. :(
Also let me just say this comic includes the visual of a man strapped to a kite plummeting to his doom. Now go read it.
Blackest Night: Wonder Woman #3: Okay, this cover is leaps and bounds more visually pleasing than the other two, even if the copypasta in the back is kind of silly. It adds interest, so whatever. Gorgeous. Fierce bitch. Etc. Inside art continues to be stunning, albeit a bit stiff in places, but I forgive it. The action was really fun to go through, and it almost made up for that hideous Star Sapphire outfit Wondie's got. I just have no tolerance for bellytop/stomach windows that make no damn sense. Oh, well. Durhur male artists. The interaction with Mera was really interesting, and it actually rings a little stronger after I read GL#50 and found out what they were talking about. Good times. Enjoyed it a lot.
Blackest Night: The Question: I was not disappointed. The art was very unique compared to what you see in the other tie-ins, and in the DCU in general. Scratchy, grimey, kind of a hot mess in places, but really. I think it looked fab. Loved it. A kind of ho-hum, choppy setup with Shiva showing up and going FIGHT ME, BITCH and Renee going OH OKAY???, lol, but things flowed alright. Loved Charlie's interactions, loved how things were left. Thought it worked. Yaaaay, Questions. But baww, they had to go and recreate those panels from 52 and break my heart again. PS Renee I like you with long hair.
THAT'S ALL, FOLKS!
