I pussed out of getting the injections just like I knew I would. After the conversation I had with the doctor, you will not make me feel bad about this okay. I don't have to think about that place until August.

Dad took me to Big Ben's and I got the first issue of Zatanna and I do friggin' enjoy. Buy it. Show some lady love. Also picked up Brightest Day with the lol deceptive cover and the first volume of the Sinestro Corps War 'cause I've been jonesin' to read it again. Sinestro is such a bamf.

We also went to Calder's and I had the best chocolate ice cream ever produced on God's green earth. Then we drove past our old home and saw some lady sweeping the porch. Hm.

That it's not like I was gonna be forced onto a table and stuck with needles, and that if I really hated it that's my deal, and if I can suck it up and deal with the pain I can do that and my joints won't be damaged for it, but if it gets unbearable we'll drain the fluid.

Besides, steroid injections are baaaaaaad for you. My mom's bones are going to be totally fucked (moreso than they already are) because of the continual shots she gets. She only gets them every few months, but that's still pretty fucking frequent for cortisone shots.

I asked him about treatment alternatives, and he said considering my case is specific to only two joints, the cortisone is the way to go. I took oral steroids a couple times that worked great, but he said that was for multi-joint flareups. So as long as I keep an eye on the puffiness day to day and medicate as needed, I should be fine. If the water gets too much, I bring myself a horse bit, bite down, and scream sailor swears as he gets rid of it.

Well. I mean like, steroids in general are not very good for your body. They're a temporary (and awesome) fix, but the long-term effects of constant use are... not pleasant.

And you can do it if it gets that bad! We will all be cheering for you. Did you see how many people commented on the post where you first mentioned it? Jesus H Christ, gurl, you are popular.

That's another reason why I was like "hnn IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE", but the only other alt is like. Surgery. That I don't need. So I have my naprosen and I have daily dogwalks and that'll just have to do.

I def don't take it for granted, that's for sure, though if I tried to light a petition candle for every person rooting for me here, I'd burn down my church. 8'|

Police report that the candle in question was supposedly lit for someone called "soviet noodles". Investigators are still trying to find links between the local chain Noodles & co. and possible communist ties. Reports say the suspect was working on the "s"s on her list when the candle tipped and caught the carpet on fire.
