o8. A moment

I sat in church alone a Sunday evening a few weeks ago, feeling pretty miserable about myself and how things were going and how they'd gone so far. I didn't feel very valuable or redeemable or at all worthwhile on a number of levels and was having a hard time sitting still there and focusing.
Offertory hymn was called out and I picked up the book and thumbed over to it, not really intending to sing it much, but I read it and started singing along. The further along it got, the more emotional I became before everything went blurry and I was in tears. I was very overwhelmed with how loved and valuable I was right there and I couldn't stop misting up and wiping my eyes, so I must've looked nuts to the lady sitting next to me. I'd read "I love you and you are mine" and lose it each time. It was really good for me.
