Wow I haven't been this retarded in a while. My all day shift today left me starving and raving, and I ended up calling Steve halfway home to see what he was doing. So I had him drive me up to Taco Bell for some much-needed unhealthy fake Mexican food. He got his new car; a '94 Grand Marquis. It is very nice, and he got it at a reasonable price. He's kinda irked by the bad speakers, but oh well. Small price to pay for something that runs. XD I munched on tacos and we chatted it up about random shit (like how he ended up watching Steamboy at Britt's. WITHOUT ME.) for like an hour until he demanded we go and do something, because this "Bad Day" song was on and he said, "This song is making me feel bad about having a new car; let's go already."

So we spent like. 3 hours in Borders. By the way, guys, Marshall Field's Hudson's is now a Macy's. And you know what? IT'S THE SAME STORE. With the same dumb pricy junk. It doesn't really effect me, but that damn mall has had so many makeovers in the past year it's getting unnerving. The arcade is gone, for good it looks like. ): So long as Legends and Borders stays, I'll be fine.

Anyhow, I caroused the comic books there and dragged Steve along, and we lol'ed at some of the retardedness we found therein, and then I dragged him over to the manga side, because I wanted to see if they were still carrying copies of Inverloch (they weren't), and we laughed at the retarded names the manga had. Air Gear was there, but it was in plastic. Wtfwhy.

Then over to the music, where we just traipsed along the aisles with no real goal, but I did find a decently-priced 2-disc set of Gerswhin compositions. I clung onto that as we sampled different cds here and there. The Spamalot selection was broken, unfortunately. As was the Tarzan musical one. But I did get to listen to my favorite track from Jersey Boys, and got teased for being so entranced by it. D:

These are all just boring details, but the best thing today was the fact that it was the first time I ever paid attention to the world music section. They carry Turkish pop collections. I don't know why that amazes me, but it DOES. There was a lot of fantastic randomness there that I WANT BADLY. And a lot of collections titled like "CUBA: Best songs ever" and "BRAZIL: Best songs ever", and we found that very intense. The dance section was amazing, too. We loved the cd titled "Queer for the Ear," and some of the AMAZING gay dance tracks titled. I can't even remember some of the brilliance that was present, but oh God it was hilarious.

Near closing time, I was a bit stuck between wanting to get the Gershwin cd, this 4-disc world set (15 dollars!), and a cd of, as it was described, "Da Vinci inspired religious electronica." I sampled some of it and it was just..fjdsogsdj I must have it one day. But through Steve's EVIL process of elimination ("Pick a hand"), I ended up with the Gershwin one. Which is good.

Coming home I brought him in to see how very..red our living room is. The paint didn't cover the stencils, so we're working on fixing that. But he was very surprised at how...uh. Red. Our room is. Haha. Then he left and I sat down and watched this..MGM documentary thing or whatever that was on with Mom and Dad. It was good; clips of dance and song numbers by Frank Sinatra, Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland, Jimmy Stewart, and all this other stuff pretaining to movie musicals. Some of it was just ridiculous, but Clark Gable was in it. :D

This Gershwin cd? AMAZING. I want a Leonard Berstein one next. :D

Oh Endy, you have no idea how much fun I am having with your present. AND I MEAN THAT IN THE MOST HONEST POSSIBLE WAY.
