4/9 comic envelopes will be delivered today: Kat, Mae, Safty, Jeb. They are the lightest so I will see how their pricing goes!
Ragna yours may be last as I must go forth and get a safer envelope for your treasures! 8)
DRE DO YOU WANT A SUPERMAN PIN OR A BATMAN PIN OR A WONDER WOMAN PIN?

Okay you know the Black-Eyed Peas song "Imea Be"? SOME OF IT IS SHIT but it's actually got some fun transitions I can appreciate this song and yes I will jam to it on the road to and from school with no shame. BUT THE BEST PART IS BECAUSE THEY DO A WHOLE DANG CHORUS OF "I'MMA BE, I'MMA BE, I'MMAI'MMAI'MMA BE" and it sounds like they're just saying "I'm a bee". My God.

Tee hee.

Iiii feel like being annoying and self-indulgent today.
If there's a particular character/story I draw/talk about a lot you might be curious about, name/describe them and I will tell you things about them.

Oh man are you sick of OCs yet I hope not there are so many. Viyle used to have horrid blue hair back in the day BUT IT IS BROWN NOW and I feel much better about that.

Nick and I went to the mall and he bought Depeche Mode's Violator album and a Cowboy Bebop OST and then I was looking in the Disney Store for something little for his nephew and my old boss Barb was like "OH LAURA YOU HAVE A CHECK HERE"

So I have $81! Interesting. I don't remember ever working enough hours there to merit that. Maybe it was "oh we screwed her over for Disneyworld tickets LET'S GIVE HER EXTRA AFTER SHE STOPS WORKING." I don't know. At least now I have money to pay off my credit card this month without having to dip into my savings.

Yeah so we meandered around Best Buy for a while till I asked for the time and PANIIICKED because I was going to miss church, but he came with me, which was awful nice of him. He was a little scared to be there but ff, it was a nice service and he said he liked it? That's good. Then he came home with me and had dinner with the fam and talked musiccrap with Dad and then we watched the last two episodes of Avatar S2 and he left.

And tomorrow I get to FINALLY formally meet his parents. IT'S ONLY TAKEN WHAT. FOUR MONTHS? Nurr.

Oh yeah.
I keep forgetting to do this, but

Nick's version of Eye to Eye
from a Goofy Movie. He said it was fine to share. SO ENJOY, FL. It is so...perky!

AAA NEW MATISYAHU CD/DVD THINGIE. Must have. Must have. Though that new mix of 'Jerusalem' just sounds like a slow-down of the original. Whatever. I want tour footage. And the mix of 'Youth' isn't too shabby. "New Jew for 2007!" I said to mom. Because she does share my enjoyment of Matis.

Yeah okay that is a bit fangirly. I will divert my excitement into something different.

Photoshop faces whee )

The uh. Animation speech was okay. Too bad it went 3 minutes over. Haha I can't shut up.

Last day for chocolate, chips, and soda for the next 41 days. This is going to be intense. I CAN DO IT. I will get my ashes tomorrow before class and be totally awesome despite not knowing what the hell this Design Concepts teacher WANTS ME TO DO WITH THIS BINGO CARD.

OH. OH YEAH. So there's going to be a free concert March...9th? I think. 6th? One of those. Up in Ferndale. Paolo Nutini, which is like...Scottish Jack Johnson with a thing for shoes? Either way, he is happy and the show is free. I demand a trek to free music.

HI SECOND EDIT:
As Steve drove us home from Southland on our Valentine's date, somehow the discussion segwayed into a superpower one, piggybacking a reference to a previous stupid conversation with [livejournal.com profile] ruffwriter over undisclosed details.
I said I'd find the power of detecting fake Rolexes kind of interesting. Then I thought/said aloud,
"I'd kind of like the power to like...change the wording of road signs."

STEVE: Haha, yeah?
L: "Yeah, like that 94-Detroit one? It'd say--
UNISON: DEEEEE-TROIT!
STEVE: And Outer Dr. would be 'OUTER DURRRRR'.

You have no idea how much stupid fun we all have saying OUTER DURRRR.
noelleno: (Russia)
Wow I haven't been this retarded in a while. My all day shift today left me starving and raving, and I ended up calling Steve halfway home to see what he was doing. So I had him drive me up to Taco Bell for some much-needed unhealthy fake Mexican food. He got his new car; a '94 Grand Marquis. It is very nice, and he got it at a reasonable price. He's kinda irked by the bad speakers, but oh well. Small price to pay for something that runs. XD I munched on tacos and we chatted it up about random shit (like how he ended up watching Steamboy at Britt's. WITHOUT ME.) for like an hour until he demanded we go and do something, because this "Bad Day" song was on and he said, "This song is making me feel bad about having a new car; let's go already."

So we spent like. 3 hours in Borders. By the way, guys, Marshall Field's Hudson's is now a Macy's. And you know what? IT'S THE SAME STORE. With the same dumb pricy junk. It doesn't really effect me, but that damn mall has had so many makeovers in the past year it's getting unnerving. The arcade is gone, for good it looks like. ): So long as Legends and Borders stays, I'll be fine.

Anyhow, I caroused the comic books there and dragged Steve along, and we lol'ed at some of the retardedness we found therein, and then I dragged him over to the manga side, because I wanted to see if they were still carrying copies of Inverloch (they weren't), and we laughed at the retarded names the manga had. Air Gear was there, but it was in plastic. Wtfwhy.

Then over to the music, where we just traipsed along the aisles with no real goal, but I did find a decently-priced 2-disc set of Gerswhin compositions. I clung onto that as we sampled different cds here and there. The Spamalot selection was broken, unfortunately. As was the Tarzan musical one. But I did get to listen to my favorite track from Jersey Boys, and got teased for being so entranced by it. D:

These are all just boring details, but the best thing today was the fact that it was the first time I ever paid attention to the world music section. They carry Turkish pop collections. I don't know why that amazes me, but it DOES. There was a lot of fantastic randomness there that I WANT BADLY. And a lot of collections titled like "CUBA: Best songs ever" and "BRAZIL: Best songs ever", and we found that very intense. The dance section was amazing, too. We loved the cd titled "Queer for the Ear," and some of the AMAZING gay dance tracks titled. I can't even remember some of the brilliance that was present, but oh God it was hilarious.

Near closing time, I was a bit stuck between wanting to get the Gershwin cd, this 4-disc world set (15 dollars!), and a cd of, as it was described, "Da Vinci inspired religious electronica." I sampled some of it and it was just..fjdsogsdj I must have it one day. But through Steve's EVIL process of elimination ("Pick a hand"), I ended up with the Gershwin one. Which is good.

Coming home I brought him in to see how very..red our living room is. The paint didn't cover the stencils, so we're working on fixing that. But he was very surprised at how...uh. Red. Our room is. Haha. Then he left and I sat down and watched this..MGM documentary thing or whatever that was on with Mom and Dad. It was good; clips of dance and song numbers by Frank Sinatra, Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland, Jimmy Stewart, and all this other stuff pretaining to movie musicals. Some of it was just ridiculous, but Clark Gable was in it. :D

This Gershwin cd? AMAZING. I want a Leonard Berstein one next. :D

Oh Endy, you have no idea how much fun I am having with your present. AND I MEAN THAT IN THE MOST HONEST POSSIBLE WAY.

That dude I mentioned earlier? He made me a song. :D For the kaki. Listennnn! It's all technoey and cool and I like eet a lot. :B You gotta zoom in to get the player, yah.

Neat little music list thing )
I tried to only include ones where I in fact own the cd or own the entire album on my puter. Let's all NOT make fun of the fact that I do indeed possess not one, but two Yanni albums and The Charlie Daniels Band. =P

EDIT:
I think one of the greatest lyrical bars of our time has to be this--

I
See
A
Line
of
Beautiful girls dressed as stormtroopers, each one a gem
With leather boots
That go up to the thigh
It's risque--dare I say--S&M (LOVE IT!)

So, ahh. I finally finished my first $20 commission today, and that's pretty exciting. I hope that Doodzi gets in contact with me and sends me my monies. I gotta start on Bro's; hopefully with break coming up I'll get that one done quicker.

Yesterday I went to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and that was pretty neat. They played Beethoven's Fifth as the second portion of the concert, and it naturally brought the house down. Good times. What's crazy, though, is that I saw a flyer for Yo-Yo Ma. To appear in Detroit?! Whoa. That's pretty nuts. I think I want to go see that.

Daddy bid and won Treasure Planet DVD for me. :D Stfu, I like that movie, and damn Disney for their vile on-again off-again stock of DVD titles.

Niko's pchat is back and I am ever-so-happy.

I rejoice with this:

Fell <3

I also got my tax return of 340 dollars, and deposited that. Then I went malling and bought a Coldplay single with songs I don't have (that are fantastic), the first Gorillaz cd (which is odd), another damn comic book, and the omgIcan'tbelieveIhaveitnow Sweeney Todd soundtrack. You have no idea how happy that makes me. It's so good. And Johanna doesn't sound RETARDED in this new version. HUZZAH.

And. Um. That's all I got. Tired. Night.

What the

I don't get it. I thought I hated Coheed and Cambria! What is going on? Do I like them now? But the singer's voice is hideous! It's like being hit with a flail with ten-second intervals inbetween lashings so that it hurts more. But dammit, I can't resist bands who actually use their guitars to promote melody instead of the overdone, mildly amusing on occaision, incessant chunk-chunk-chunking that assrapes the bass. It's like people actually learned something from U2. Like. That guitars can be more than just a figurehead of a band. That they can reinforce the song, rather than just drape over it like a tablecloth. And though CandC doesn't do it often, it's the thought that counts. That and the tempo changes in "Welcome Home," make me happy. Tempo is meant to change, people, let it happen.

Uhhh. Well, anywho, test in math tomorrow. If I don't do good, self esteem is definitely going down. I mean, come on, it's point-slope. Remedial shit! I should only be getting a 74 in that class because I forget due dates. And story problems. Those suck.

Time to go suffer Design and freeze my ass off on the way there.

Do you trust my taste in music? Pick a number between 1 and 732 an I'll find the corresponding song in my collection playlist. I'll upload it fo you (and everyone else reading this entry) to grab. [Optional: when you've gotte a song from me, go post this meme in your own journal, so I can grab a rando song from you.

Sure, why not?

732, lol. My playlist is teeny tiny.

Anywho. Got a 90% on my 2.4 quiz, and a 20% on my 2.5. HAHAHHAA. That's because it was problem solving. I fail at problem solving. :D

New comic pages. Humor me and go see them.

So, yeah! I kind of bummed out today over my Honors paper. I got an 86 on it, but it didn't LOOK like an 86. It said 69/80, which looks crappy. But I figured it was an 86%, and that's not bad. Still, I was annoyed. Ferrah told us to approach this creatively. I DID. And I got scorned for using first-person. Pfffft.

Haha, Cukerya says that balance is lost when I'm not in her and Acquilla's room when she comes in. I think that's an abstract gesture of friendship. XD

Must. Finish. Theatre critique. It's a little under three pages, I can do it! I just don't want to.

I feel very out of place artistically sometimes. Not in a bad way, actually. I'm kind of cool with it. Except for the whole...mediocrity complex I'm apt to getting, as you are aware of. That's not the case right now. I'm just surprised at where I'm at. But yeah, upon uploading the two new comic pages, noticing the four new sudden watches from strangers made me feel pretty cool. I'm getting somewhere! I don't know where, but hell, I'm going!

I also feel very intrusive. Yang made this amazing studio page and invited me to be a part of it. So my little button's on there--this bug-eyed image of Elle. How did I get this honor? It feels so strange to me. But I think now I can confidently say that them folks are my friends. Not that I'd receive the same reaction, but hey. =P I just hope I'm not becoming a pest.

Y'know what? I realized I have probably. A week to get my card design done for Niko's. That's ridiculous. I have no time to do it; I should just quit. But I'd feel dumb. I'm a moderator at that place, so I should show some support, since I can hardly be there to do my job, right?

And speaking of moderating, I got promoted to such on a sheezy club. Dayum, am I going to be able to keep up with this?

By the way. I am demanding the immediate download of "A Million Ways to Be Cruel," by OK Go. Because you will love it. I promise.
