in which i ought to use bullet points
Sep. 10th, 2009 09:48 am9 was amazing and it was only bettered because you could hear Elijah Wood, but you didn't have to see his hideously creepy neck. No, seriously. Something about the way that guy's head is stuck on that neck weirds me the hell out. Any closeup of him in Lord of the Rings makes me flinch. But yeah, no. Beautiful textures (especially the pieces that made up the eyelids--I was weirdly drawn to that) and movement. HORRIFYING MONSTER DESIGNS WHY WHERE THERE CHILDREN THERE they will have nightmares until they die. UoohGod I would've screamed okay.
ALSO THE TRAILER FOR THE FANTASTIC MR. FOX...Um okay at first I was like "what is this creepy clunky stop motion animation" but then Clooney started talking and I was like I MUST SEE THIS DAMN MOVIE *SCREAMS.*
And Where the Wild Things Are wohhh. The monsters mesh so well with the environment. Looked nice. Idk if I'd pay to go see it, though. Hurp.
Then there was a trailer for some shitty circus vampire movie and I wanted to punch something 'cause it just looked so outrageously bad and trendy but really whatcha gonna do.
Also what the hell an AstroBoy CGI movie that's. New. A shame it doesn't look like it'll do too well or be anything special, but derp. There it is.
Got to see where Quilla lives! Me and my stupid assumptions that having a Detroit mailing address implies HIDEOUS ONE-WAY STREETS OF NO RETURN. It was actually quite easy to find, right off of the Southfield Freeway. Still. My gas tank, she weeps.
Bought some back issues of Captain Britain and MI13 that I hadn't had, along with two of the Power Girl issues I'd missed. And then was told due to Labor Day, Wednesday's releases would be a day late, so in reality, Doom Patrol and Booster Gold are there now BUT I WAS JUST THERE so I will wait. 8|
I made Quilla buy a Tiny Titans trade, though. So I feel accomplished. :]
And I was thinking "HOO IT'S A GOOD THING I STILL HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR GAS THIS UPCOMING WEEK" but then Borders sent me another book coupon FUCK. And I really really want to buy Hunger Games or something. Fff.
...And brilliant me left her work schedule in one of the north-end tollbooths oops. 8| SURE THERE'S NOTHING SUSPICIOUS ABOUT A CHICK BUSTING INTO A BOOTH CASUALLY LIFTING PAPERS RIGHT.
